* Hey guys! This is my first ever attempt at creating a website! I sorta just felt the urge to create one after watching a video by Marighoul. Having a space that you can shape however you like and share to whomever you please ANONYMOUSLY is greatly appealing to me, not to mention the whole indie aspect of breaking away from conventional social apps to explore a more shattered but expressive web not limited to the sleek uniform aesthetic most sites strive to achieve. It's a more individualistc way of viewing the web, a of looking at the personality, aesthetic, likes, and dislikes of a person with just a single page.
* I wasn't really sure what exactly I'd make when I was creating the site, I just knew I wanted to make something. At first I started simply with the basic 2000's-esque website layout a lot of these indie sites use (a centered section where all the meat of the website is with the sides being banners of sorts or a background image), but then I got the idea to do a blog. It's pretty uninspired but I thought ahead and painted everything in a beautiful Deltarune finish, so it's automatically better than all other blog sites now (i suppose except other Deltarune blog sites that look better). The thought of using Deltarune as the main theme came to me almost instantly, Chapter 5 was released less than a WEEK ago and I cleaned it out for every last bit of content (except for the weird route, shit's crazy).
* Negl though, Susie fumbling OUR chance with Pink (Me AND Kris) had me PISSED. Had me considering taking Noelle down to the lake smh, what a sell. Do you not already have the deer?? Are you trying to get me to sit down on team Canada's chair??
* Despite that, the whole chapter was pretty good, the gameplay is probably the best we've ever gotten imo (the sidescroller mode is soooo satisfying). The story didn't progress too much in the grand scheme of things but what we got was quality drama between the self and the ideals of others. The idea that Flowery was never a bad guy but just a dude confident and willing to protect his new home and lifelong friends and essentially father was COMPLETELY understandable. The game subverts your expectations by not subverting them at all and instead making Flowery hella goated (a contrast to this franchise's other yellow flower).
* Also Ralsei crashed out for the first time which was pretty crazy to see. It's clear they feel trapped with their obligations to the prophecy and as a darkner. They've been DOUBLE enslaved by things out of their control and to see some nonchalant aura farming flower guy stunt on them the entire chapter and do whatever they want set them off badddd. BUT AGAIN, it's completely understandable and rational coming from Ralsei's POV since everyone would DIE if they willy-nilly decided to keep dark fountains open and Flowery's doing it for ONE guy and basically spitting in the face of imminent demise like it's nothing. It also makes Ralsei extremely JEALOUS because the entire chapter it looked like Flowery was not only having his cake but getting to eat it too, something Ralsei cannot afford as a servant to lightners and a strict adherer to the warnings of the prophecy.
* Also the soundtrack's bangin'. The reprise of Asgore's theme, Flower Man, Setting of 7 Suns, Running Sky, HATSUNE MIKU? ALL goated. I added them to my playlist almost immediately and have been listening frequently during walks (the best way to consume music short of being an audiophile). Mannnn this chapter was good, but I do think that Asgore showed up too little. Furthermore, I feel like everyone's personality was hammed up to an 11 this time? Not necessarily BAD, I just think it ended up affecting the flavor of the humor just a tad bid to be something more slapstick (which is something I can get behind). Also I feel like the chapter basically did nothing for the wider narrative of the story. I get it's the last hurrah before the proverbial shit hits the proverbial fan, but this means Toby is gonna have to wrap ALL loose ends up within just 2 chapters. I don't think it's IMPOSSIBLE, the average length of a chapter is around 7-9 hours I think? I just think it might be a bit of a tall order considering the multitude of mysteries the game still has. But, I have faith in the man; I'll just do my part and enjoy the ride.
* And that's about it for my first ever entry. It's a pretty long one and it might be a turn-off for any visitors (if i manage to successfully host it), but it's pretty exciting just writing this. I'll work on implementing an actual entry system instead of hardcoding the entries manually into the site like I'm doing now, but in the meantime enjoy my ramblings and my lil project. *THANKS FOR READING!
